To fully appreciate this site’s name, you need to pronounce my last name properly (“Kluff”) and be familiar with a famous student study guide with an unmistakable yellow cover, “CliffsNotes”. The original creator, Cliff Hellegass, once advised students:

“Opinions expressed in the CliffsNotes aren’t rigid dogma meant to discourage your intellectual exploration. You should use them as starting points to open yourself to new methods of encountering, understanding, and appreciating literature.”

My intent here is to carry on that tradition with my thoughts on words, books, and general topics.  My missives are “not a substitute for your original thinking.”

I’ve got a ton of identities, roles and interests that define me, the most important of which are displayed in this word cloud.

I love word clouds. You can make your own online with this tool.
